From our statement:
Pivilion/EXEno1 is a collaborative, networked, and modular sculptural installation of server sculptures symbiotically integrated with the Pivilion software art project. Pivilion is an art-hacktivist and collaborative ongoing project of radical decentralization in contemporary internet art.
The material basis of the project is a microcomputer (Raspberry Pi) which, through the installation of the custom Pivilion software, takes on the role of a server and enables uncensored hosting of artistic websites, all without having to rent a commercial server. The server sculptures networked in the installation host hypermedia galleries accessible via the local “pivilion” Wi‑Fi network, as well as through the public internet.
The themes Pivilion explores include: questioning different modes and ethical concepts of digital artworks – their archiving and distribution, licensing and ownership of digital art, precarity and production, privacy and anonymity on the internet, versioning as well as new canons of digital art.
